Peab will build the bridge, which will be used by pedestrians, bicyclists and mass transit services.
“A bridge to Varvsstaden will contribute to smoother communication for pedestrians, bicyclists and mass transit and thereby reduce car traffic to and from Västra Hamnen,” said Peab region manager Göran Wiking. “It feels natural to take on work in another area of this new city borough where we’re already renovating and building. We’re preserving history in Varvsstaden and at the same time winding it into the future with great environmental care.”
The project is expected to be completed in the November 2024.
