Texas Department of Transportation has awarded a US$746 million contract to rebuild Interstate 35 through Austin Texas to UK infrastructure group Balfour Beatty.

The project includes a replacement bridge over Lady Bird Lake on the Colorado River. This part of the work calls for marine expertise as the bridge will be constructed in part from a barge.
Work will start early in 2025 with a completion date set for 2033.
