The winning design came out of the Nemec & Taller Architektur studio. The competition jury appreciated the way the design integrated all modes of transport on a narrow 9m deck. They noted the intuitive and clear pedestrian route, and the integration with the river bank park. The design uses UHPFRC for ease of maintenance, and resilience against floods and vessel impacts.

The competition was organised by the Waterways Directorate of the Czech Republic; Institute of Planning and Development of the Capital City of Prague; and the management of the Capital City of Prague. The winner was picked by a jury of expert architects led by Professor Pavel Ryjácek, the head of the Department of Steel and Wood Structures of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Czech Technical University.

The studio EHL & Koumar Architekti came second in the competition, and Lucid Architects Limited came in third.
