The new crossing will carry 12 lanes – six in each direction – in addition to two footpaths over Dubai Creek. It will measure 61.6m in width and will rise to 100m. It has been designed to enable ships to pass underneath through a 400m-wide channel with a clearance of 15m above the water level.

The RTA’s board has approved a total budget of almost US$1.1 billion for its capital projects this year.
