The Riverine project will reach across Lifford in Ireland and Strabane in Northern Ireland to create 12ha of new cross-border community park space and infrastructure, designed to help bring people together. The scheme comprises a number of elements including a pavilion building for events; wetland and park space; a play area; pathways; and a pedestrian footbridge across the River Foyle.

Match-funding for the project has been provided by the Department for Communities in Northern Ireland and the Department of Rural & Community Development in Ireland. The Riverine project also involves a partnership between Donegal County Council and Derry City and Strabane District Council. Both will be involved in its construction, delivery and maintenance.
