Delaware Memorial Bridge is a pair of twin suspension bridges that opened in 1951 and 1968. Three of the four southbound lanes have been closed to traffic while the work takes place over the next few days.
The Delaware River & Bay Authority said that traffic has been shifted to just the right lane to reduce the load in the work area in order to maintain required structural factors of safety during the process.
