“This bridge was constructed in 1952 and is reaching the end of its life span,” said Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development (DOTD) secretary Shawn Wilson. “The state, and this area, has seen tremendous growth over the past 70 years and we must have infrastructure that supports the needs of our communities and motorists. With innovative financing such as a P3, we are able to modernise our transportation system with the help of the private sector.”
DOTD received 37 letters of interest for the public-private partnership in March. A contract award is anticipated in spring 2023.
