This short film tells the story of the first phase of works on the Hammersmith Flyover in west London - from its dramatic closure in 2011 to the completion of the emergency works on the worst-affected spans.
The second phase of works to strengthen the remainder of the structure is due to be completed later this year. A full report on the current works will be published in issue 79 of Bridge design & engineering in May 2015.
