The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) has initiated the tender process for a major river crossing on National Highway 167K, designed as a hybrid cable-stayed and suspension bridge.

The structure will span the Krishna River near Nagarkurnool in Telangana, approximately 140km south of Hyderabad and 100km north of Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh.

The proposed bridge (opens in new window) will have a total length of 1,077m, including a main span of 864m. It is intended to serve as a key link between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, reducing travel distances by nearly 80km and improving connectivity toward Tirupati and Chennai. The project is valued at around US$98–116 million and will be delivered under an EPC contract. Construction is scheduled for completion within 30 months, followed by a 10-year defect liability period.

Tender documents specify a hybrid structural system combining cable-stayed and suspension elements to achieve both functional performance and architectural prominence.

Bids must be submitted by 16 February 2026.
