Governor Andy Beshear said that his budget is targeting three projects: the Brent Spence companion bridge project, the I-69 Ohio River crossing in Henderson and the completion of the Mountain Parkway project.

Beshear said that he was also allocating US$184.9 million over three years for a contribution that will unlock nearly US$774.7 million in federal money for the Highway Trust Fund. “This will allow for nearly $1 billion for road and bridge construction in Kentucky,” he said.

He added that the state is charting a path to building the Brent Spence companion bridge without tolls.
