The bridge protection systems beneath the structure will be completed this month. The temporary trestles will also soon be dismantled.

Despite rainy weather holding up work, DSOP says that the asphalting of the 3.1km eight-lane bridge was completed in 102 days, rather than the planned 105 days.

The new bridge connects reclaimed land presently named Area A and the artificial island of the Hong Kong-Zuhai-Macao Bridge Port.

The new structure was named Macau Bridge by a public vote held in March. The work on the bridge by China Railway Construction Corporation started in 2020.
