A cable-stayed bridge in Malaysia has been officially named Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud Bridge.

The 1.2km structure over the Kuala Kemena River in the province of Sarawak connects the town of Bintulu with the airport in Jepak. The bridge carries four lanes of traffic and was constructed by CCCC (link opens in new tab).

More than 5,000 people gathered to witness the naming by the state premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
