The 1,024m-long Nujiang Railway Bridge Darui has a single span of 490m and, when completed, it is expected to enter the the record books as the world’s longest rail-only arch bridge. The structure has 14 simple spans above the main arch, each 37m long, and 12 approach spans 41m in length. The approach spans both lead to tunnel entrances.

The bridge will carry four railway lines and is part of the 220km-long Dali-Ruili railway, a key part of the China-Myanmar international railway corridor linking Kunming, the provincial capital of Yunnan, with Yangon of Myanmar. When the Dali-Ruili railway is completed, the transport time between the two cities will be reduced from six hours to two.
