The Royal Commission for Riyadh City in Saudi Arabia has awarded a US$1 billion design-and-build contract for upgrading a cable-stayed bridge.

The contract for work on the Wadi Laban bridge and construction of an intersection was announced in February (link opens in new tab). It has been awarded to a joint venture consisting of Turkish firm IC Ictas and the Riyadh-based Al Rashid Trading & Contracting Company.
