A ceremony in Iran's capital, Tehran, has marked the completion of the Javadiyeh Bridge.

The bridge has an unusual asymmetric arch design. The deck is supported by cables from an arch that splits into two at one of the ends.

The 210m-long bridge has seismic shock transmitters and has been designed to withstand seismic shifts of up to 300mm. It locks under larger movements, with the loads transmitted directly to the piers.
