Ukraine’s prime minister Denys Shmyhal said that Ukraine has stepped up the preparation of agreements on the construction of a bridge over the Tisza River and the opening of a new checkpoint at the common border, as agreed during a telephone conversation in February this year.
"The construction of a new bridge over the Tisza River between the Ukrainian village of Bila Tserkva and the Romanian city of Sighetu Marmatiei with the opening of a relevant international checkpoint is one of the important bilateral projects,” said Shmyhal. “It will not only have a favourable economic and cross-border effect, but will also strengthen Ukraine’s practical integration into the European space.”
He added that Ukraine had submitted its proposals on holding bilateral consultations on the bridge crossing and hoped they would take place in the near future.
