The decision to impose restrictions on the Servia Bridge in northern Greece was taken by the North Macedonia regional authority. In January, it had approved a US$162 million strengthening and rehabilitation project. Tasks include crack repairs and strengthening.
The bridge, which is more than 1.3km long, opened in 1975. The decision to undertake repairs follows inspections and evaluations carried out over the last three years.
