Vinci scoops Panama bridge contract
Vinci Construction Grands Projets has beaten two other tenderers to secure the contract to build a major cable-stayed bridge on the Atlantic side of the Panama Canal.
Its US$365.98m bid came in under the US$386.62m submitted by the Spanish-Mexican team of Acciona Infraestructuras-Tradeco and a bid of US$429.63 from the Brazilian-Korean consortium Odebrecht-Hyundai Joint Venture. An evaluating committee had reviewed the technical aspects and previous experience of each company or consortia, as well as its financial capacity.
