A 2008-built cable-stayed crossing between the cities of Toa Alta and Narajito is getting attention from structural repairs experts.

The Jesús Izcoa Moure Bridge (also known as the Puente Atirantado de Naranjito) has 96 cable stays and a total span of 320m. A team from Freyssinet is leading the work.

The task list includes replacement of the lower anchorage caps, fillet welding, microcrystalline wax injection, elastomeric wrapping, and neoprene boot replacement on the bridge’s stay cables. The engineers will also reset the bearings and perform PT inspection and vacuum grouting. The work will finish in October.
