FDOT said that concrete has now been poured for the first new span needed for the bridge and that an additional piling-driving crew has been added to ensure work remains on schedule.
Latest figures for progress on the demolition and repair activities include:
- Eight fully damaged spans removed;
- 13 partially damaged spans removed;
- 21 damaged pedestrian path beams removed;
- 66 damaged I-beams removed with eight replaced;
- Five other damaged elements removed;
- 30 replacement piles driven.
